Website Terms of Use

Last updated: 17 October 2026

This website is operated by Audit Trace Forensic Accountants (ABN 42 192 066 873) (“AuditTrace”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

[Liability limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation.]

1. General information only

The content on this website, including descriptions of our services, articles and examples, is general information only. It does not take into account your particular circumstances and is not financial, accounting, tax or legal advice. You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of any website content without first obtaining advice specific to your situation.

We do not provide legal advice. Questions about your legal rights, the conduct of proceedings, or the admissibility of evidence should be directed to your lawyer.

2. No engagement until confirmed in writing

Using this website, submitting an enquiry form, sending us an email or speaking with us does not create a client relationship or an expert engagement. We can only act once we have completed conflict-of-interest checks and issued a written letter of engagement setting out the scope of work, the basis of our fees and the terms on which we act.

Where a letter of engagement applies, its terms prevail over these website terms to the extent of any inconsistency.

3. Enquiries and confidential information

We treat enquiries in confidence. However, until we have confirmed that we have no conflict of interest, please provide only the information needed to identify the parties and the general nature of your matter. Do not send confidential documents or detailed matter information through this website or by email before we have been engaged. We may be unable to act for you, for example where we have already been approached by, or are acting for, another party to the same dispute.

Information you send us is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

4. Investigation estimator and indicative information

The Forensic Investigation Framework Estimator and any timeframes, phases or approaches described on this website are indicative only, for general planning purposes. They are not a quote, a proposal, an assessment of your matter or a guarantee of any outcome. Actual scope, timing and cost depend on the questions to be answered, the records available and the requirements of any court or tribunal, and will be confirmed in our letter of engagement.

5. Accuracy and availability

We take reasonable care to keep this website accurate and up to date, but we do not warrant that its content is complete, current or free from errors, or that the website will be available without interruption or free from viruses or other harmful components. Legislation, court rules and professional standards change, and content may not reflect the most recent developments.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage, including indirect or consequential loss, arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or any linked website.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. Where our liability for a breach of such a guarantee can be limited, it is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

7. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise indicated, the content of this website, including text, graphics, logos and the AuditTrace name and branding, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws. You may view, download and print content for your own personal or internal business use. You must not otherwise copy, reproduce, adapt, publish or distribute any content without our prior written consent.

8. Acceptable use

You must not use this website to submit false or misleading information, to impersonate another person, to transmit malicious code, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems, or in any way that breaches applicable laws.

9. Third-party links and content

This website may contain links to third-party websites and embedded content such as videos and maps. These are provided for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, products, services or privacy practices, and a link does not imply endorsement.

10. Professional standards

Our forensic accounting services are performed in accordance with applicable professional and ethical standards, including APES 215 Forensic Accounting Services and APES 110 Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants (including Independence Standards). Further information is available on our Evidentiary Standards page.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time by publishing a revised version on this page. Your continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the courts entitled to hear appeals from them.
